The Conversion Process – How to obtain a testimony?

Recently our church have been so emphaized on the testimony of an individual in the church.
What is a testimony? It is the witness of a person that received a confirmation of the divine nature of the information we received from God and his words. God leaves his words through the prophets in time so called the Bible, the book of Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenants, etc.
So I asked God what is the process and how can I explain it to other people what conversion is? First of all, pray in real intent, having the desire to know and have faith that you will get an answer. Read the Book of the Mormon and meditated on what you read. Seek the guidance from the Holy Spirit. Once you feel the Holy spirit speaks to you in your mind, then you can ask him any questions and he will answer in your mind right away. Once you can communicate with the Holy Spirit, this is call the “spiritual birth”. Why is that I asked you to read the book of Mormon to seek the Holy Ghost because, through the words of God in this book, you can reach the Holy Ghost, and you will not confuse from other evil spirit with the Holy Ghost. Test out this promise. Moromon 10:4-5 read.

4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. Then you can keep each commandments to test out all these commandments to received a confirmation for a testimony. In the Doctrine & Covnant 130: 20-21 it said

20 There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated--

21 And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.

If you are confused whether they are the Holy Ghost or not, use this scripture to help you to judge. Moroni 7:12-15

12 Wherefore, all things which are good cometh of God; and that which is evil cometh of the devil; for the devil is an enemy unto God, and fighteth against him continually, and inviteth and enticeth to sin, and to do that which is evil continually.
13 But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually;
wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to
serve him, is inspired of God.
14 Wherefore, take heed, my beloved brethren, that ye do not judge that which is evil to
be of God, or that which is good and of God to be of the devil.
15 For behold, my brethren, it is given unto you to judge, that ye may know good from
evil; and the way to judge is as plain, that ye may know with a perfect knowledge, as
the daylight is from the dark night.

3Nephi 9:20

20 And ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit. And whoso
cometh unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, him will I baptize with fire and with
the Holy Ghost, even as the Lamanites, because of their faith in me at the time of their
conversion, were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and they knew it not.

Concersion is the baptism with fire and with the Holy Ghost.

The 10 commandments:
1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any
thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the
water under the earth:
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not
hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
5. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon
the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy
neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass,
nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

The commandments are the 10 commandments, paying tithing 10% of your income. The
word of wisdom - No alcohol, hot drinks like tea or coffee, etc. Keeping the Sabbath
day holy, go to church and keep it holy. Love the Lord thy God, Love thy neighbor as
thyself. Test out each commandments to see the blessings behind it. Going to Church is like a support for your spiritual growth. Rather if you are always by yourself, you can be tempted by so many instances to become inactive. There are 1/3 of spirits followed Satan and they are many and they are everywhere. If we are offtrack, we will be tempted to go inactive very easily.

To summarize my writing. To get a testimony is to have a spiritual birth that give you the communication with the Holy Ghost God the Father and Jesus Christ, that leads to your relationship with God and able to feel free to talk to him. He is our father in spirit and we lived with him before we came to this earth. To know that he exist and are living is the key. To know that he called prophets like Joseph Smith to restore the original gospel to this earth. This is the true church on earth and Jesus Christ is the head of this church. The purpose is to go back to him after we died and resurrect and be exalted in the Kingdom of God in the future with our family through the ordinance in the temple all throughout the world.

When I was a missionary in Hong Kong, the spirit always told me, this is his work, NOT your work, therefore never fear what other people will do to you. Just work hard and he will direct you wherever you go.
